Dr. Alvarez was born in Miami, Florida; however, her family is from Cuba. She received her B.S. degree in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Miami in 1991, and her dental degree from the University of Florida in 1995. Dr. Alvarez received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry in May 1997 from the Medical College of Georgia.
Upon completion of her certificate, Dr. Alvarez moved to the rural valleys of Las Matas, Dominican Republic for six months to set up a non-profit dental clinic. Funded entirely by donations, her organization, Instruments of Peace, now employs a Dominican dentist in an office with two dental chairs, a generator, water distillers and an autoclave.
In November of 1997, Dr. Alvarez moved to Jacksonville and practiced pediatric dentistry in several local offices. Dr. Alvarez opened her own office in December 1999. Dr. Alvarez is currently a member of the Cleft Palate Board at Wolfson's Children's Hospital. She is an ABPD diplomate and a member of ADA, ABPD, AAPD, JDS, and the FDA.
Dr. Alvarez enjoys reading, running, spending time with her daughters, and cycling with her husband. She also loves to dance and wishes that she could have more time for it. Dr. Alvarez has one younger brother. She would love to visit the Galapagos Islands because it would be amazing to see nature untouched by man! Mary Poppins' positive demeanor and love and respect of children make her Dr. Alvarez' favorite Disney character. (Also, Mary Poppins loved to dance too!) Dr. Alvarez loves Italian food, especially eggplant parmesan, "But," she asks, "what can compete with a just right, medium rare prime rib with horseradish sauce and a side of couscous?!"

Diana has been in the dental field for 14 years and has been with Dr. Alvarez for 10 years. Diana will assist you with all your financial inquires, scheduling needs, and answer any questions regarding treatment and sedations. Diana is originally from Ohio, but moved to Jacksonville with her husband. She loves to spend her time shopping and with her family. In her spare time, Diana enjoys putting together a scrapbook of special memories and watching football and baseball game, especially when her children are on the team! Diana was thirteen years old when her only younger sister was born. She would love to visit Greece because she enjoys the histroy and architecture that make this historical country a beautiful place. Diana's favorite super hero is Superman; although, she also enjoys a good princess movie, like Cinderella, because she claims to be a princess at heart. If there was only one last meal that Diana could eat, it would be at a Japanese Steakhouse.

Trenye is a certified dental assistant with over 9 years experience. Her gentle loving way will help your child overcome all dental anxieties. She has been with Dr. Alvarez for 7 years. Trenye is a true native of Jacksonville. She loves spending her time with her immediate and extended family. Her favorite thing to do is to watch her girls play the Just Dance Kids Wii game. Trenye enjoys reading, and could get lost in a great book if she was given the opportunity. As the youngest of ten siblings, she also has loads of fun playing card games with all of them when they get together! If she could go anywhere, Trenye would visit Paris because she says that it would be a great experience. Her favorite Disney princess is Tiana, but her girls are her favorite princesses. Trenye also loves a good southern meal of fried chicken, collard greens, baked macaroni and cheese, corn bread, and yellow rice.

Hannah can help you with all insurance questions and making appointments. She loves children and has previous work experience in the school system and as a camp counselor. Hannah is originally from Jacksonville, and has lived here most of her life. She loves God, her family and friends, music, ice cream, sunshine, and rain! Hannah enjoys being in the great outdoors camping, swimming, hiking, and the beach. She also enjoys baking and scrapbooking. Hannah is the third of four children. She would like to travel to Israel, because she thinks it would be amazing to walk where Jesus walked. Her favorite disney princesses are Belle, Pocahontas, and Mulan. If she could choose any meal to eat, she would choose homemade pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, and ice cream for dessert.

Chelsea has a wonderful sweet personality and has 2 years of dental experience. She will also be assisting your child with oral hygiene instructions and check-up appointments. We are excited to have her with us! Chelsea is from Jacksonville and has lived her for all of her life. She loves to get pedicures, work out, go fishing, paint pretty pictures, and eat! She enjoys her family, going to the movies, country music, and reading books by Nicholas Sparks. If she could, Chelsea would go to the beach almost every day to swim and tan. She has one younger sister, and likes going to "Best Buddies" events with her. If Chelsea could go anywhere, she would go to Hawaii because she has heard that is it beautiful and she can visit the beach all of the time! Her favorite Disney princess is Ariel. Chelsea's favorite food is Sushi.
Nelanie is great with the children and has a soothing personality! She will assist your child with oral hygiene instructions, cleaning and check-up appointments. Nelanie was born in Puerto Rico, and then moved to Jacksonville with her family. She likes going to the movies and out to dinner for a delicious meal. Nelanie enjoys taking Zumba dance classes because they are a lot of fun! Nelanie is an only child. Nelanie would love to visit Puerto Rico because it is her home and her family lives there. Her favorite Disney princess is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Two of Nelanie's favorite food items are rice and beans! Shocker!
Sherae has a sweet personality. You will immediately love her for her welcoming smile. She works in the front office, answering phone calls and making appointments. Sherae is from Jacksonville originally. Some things that she likes to do are bowling, skating, and swimming. She also enjoys shopping for clothes and jewelry as well as traveling to many different places. She just loves to have a goot time! Sherae is the middle child of two brothers and one sister. One place she has not visited yet is Hawaii, where she has wanted to travel her whole life. Her favorite Disney princess is Tiana from "The Princess and the Frog". Sherae enjoys many different foods, especially Italian, Japanese, and Seafood!
Emily is the newest of our team members! She assists the front office and can answer all of your questions regarding insurance. Emily enjoys reading a good book while sipping coffee, or hanging out with friends and eating ice cream. She loves to go hiking, camping, and cooking, as well as being involved in various church activities. Emily is the oldest of two brothers and one sister. Emily would love to travel to many places one day such as Africa so that she can see a real giraffe and elephant like the ones in the office! Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, is Emily’s favorite Disney princess. Emily loves all kinds of food, but if she could only choose one, it would be Mexican food.
Tango is an Eclectus Parrot, native of the Solomon Islands. She flew in 11 years ago, and has been living with us ever since! Tango loves to eat a variety of seeds, and enjoys munching on them all day long. When she is not eating, Tango is fond of nibbling on her toys; however, she most enjoys perching on Dr. Alvarez' shoulder. She likes to have children pet and hold her as well. Tango is also a very intelligent bird...she has a vocabulary of 6 words!
Mango and Papaya are Sun Conures, originally from South America. They are about 3 years old, but have only been living with us for a few months. Mango and Papaya are best friends and do not like to be separated. They love to talk to each other and anyone that pays them any attention. They will be the first to greet you when you arrive at the office!
